Welcome to Alu-Scout^® MaterialSearch

MaterialSearch enables the user to find the properties of a known alloy. (Please use Alu-Scout^® MaterialGenerator if you are looking for an alu­minium alloy that should fulfil properties you wish to specify.)

In developing MaterialSearch our aim was to give the user as much infor­mation about a specific alloy as possible for the different tempers. We do not have data on all the properties of every alloy so it is possible that in some cases certain properties are not displayed. Nonetheless we have in­cluded these alloys in MaterialSearch so that we can at least make those properties that are known available to the user.

Users can take advantage of MaterialSearch as long as they know the name of a material or alloy (it takes different standards into considera­tion) or a part of the name. Users then have the possibility to enter the name or a character string in the search window and, if the alloy is present in the material database, they will see a table containing the properties of this alloy in various tempers.

One can obtain details of alternative materials to a known material by making a note of the material properties that are relevant for a particular application and then conducting a search for materials with these proper­ties using Alu-Scout^® MaterialGenerator. MaterialGenerator then provides a list of any alternative materials that might be available.
